At Cabinets by Robert, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the Northern Michigan area for over 40 years. Our story began in February 1978, when Robert and Mary Godziebiewski made the bold move to Traverse City from the Clarkston area of Michigan. With 22 years of experience in cabinetry under their belts, they brought with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Our founder, Robert, started his journey in the cabinetmaking industry alongside his brother, and together, they owned and operated a successful cabinet shop. When they made the move to Traverse City, they brought their sons, Allen and Gary, along with them. Allen eventually went on to have a successful career with a national cabinet company, while Gary joined the family business, eventually becoming the president and co-owner.

In 1988, we relocated our custom cabinetry shop to a 6,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, which has since doubled in size to 12,000 square feet. This significant expansion allowed us to increase our production capacity and improve our quality control measures.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with numerous clients, including well-known establishments such as the Inn at Bay Harbor, The Homestead in Glen Arbor, Crystal Mountain Resort, and Grand Traverse Resort. Our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service has earned us a reputation as one of the leading cabinetmaking companies in Northern Michigan.

Our Showroom

Our spacious showroom is located at 2774 N Garfield Road in Traverse City and offers an impressive selection of custom cabinetry, production cabinetry, and specialty products. Our design staff is comprised of experienced professionals who are dedicated to helping you create your dream space. With our extensive hardware collection, designer sinks and faucets, and quality countertop options, we are confident that you will find everything you need to bring your design vision to life.
